Mumbai Indians vs. Rajasthan Royals: Today on 29th April, 2011 Mumbai Indians team was played against Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals won the toss & elected to field at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, India. The match was completely one sided as Mumbai Indians were not doing so well and scored only 94 runs in 20 over which was also their lowest score of this IPL till now. But I must appreciate the match played by Rajasthan Royals bowlers. They really did well especially Johan Botha who gave only six runs in just two over and took 3 wickets. This was really an amazing inning.
Mumbai Indians inning: Well, after deciding that Mumbai Indians will bat first, Mumbai Indians started their inning with Davy jacobs and Sachin Tendulkar. But from the beginning of the match, it was seem like Mumbai Indian will lose the match, the reason being was both openers of the team went back to pavilion by just making 15 and 7 runs respectively. Sachin Tendulkar scored only 7 runs and Davy Jacobs scored 15 runs. This was not at all good news for the team that the main player and captain himself was knocked in such a way. Sachin Tendulkar was stumped out by A Menaria in 4.2 over. This was not enough, later no batsman from the Mumbai Indians team was stayed for long time on the field and went back one by one. Not even a single player scored more than 17 runs individually. May be they were in quite hurry to make the score and thus most of them were knocked due to their wrong selection of the shot. And thus finally the team was summed up with total score of 94 with the loss of eight wickets in 20 over. Harbhajan Singh ended their inning with a six at the last ball of the 20th over.
Rajasthan Royals inning: On the other side, Rajasthan Royals were full with great confidence as Mumbai Indians did not do well. Although the start was not so good and Rahul Dravid was knocked by making just 5 runs in 16 balls. Till that time, Rajasthan Royals were at the score of 17 in 4.3 over. But thereafter Johan Botha came and as expected took the entire game into its side. He scored 45 runs in 39 balls. Till that time Rajasthan Royals were at the score of 90 in 17.2 over and there were only five more runs needed to win the game. Ross Taylor and Ashok Menaria had done that and Rajasthan Royals won the match by eight wickets in 18.1 over. But one thing I must added that the bowling performance of the Rajasthan Royal team was really impressive especially Johan Botha as they restrict the Mumbai Indians players till the end of their inning. Johan Botha became the man of the match for his wonderful all-around performance in the match.
Today on 29th April, 2011, there is also another match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors India which is playing now in M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, India. Pune Warriors India won the toss & elected to field first. Hope they will do well in the match.Share
