Clarke’s slow coach approach: Michael Clarke, captain of Australian team plays slow game even in T20 which is not a good way to play such format of game where there are limit over to score runs and put pressure on opponent team. One needs to score quick runs to chase a good total. Former Australian Test opener Michael Slater said that he Michael Clarke cannot get success in twenty over format matches if he will continue his slow scoring approach. If Michael Clarke really wants to remain in the T20 format and want to prove his talent then he should score quick runs for the team. Michael Slater was talking ahead of Australia’s opening match against Pakistan on Monday. He said that at the moment, Clarke needs to find another gear to play T20 format game. He said that he cannot walk out in the middle and start smacking the ball out of the ball from initial stage. Clarke knows that he would not be successful if he will continue a slow game in Twenty20 format. He told that it is important for him that he plays his shots of his own selection whenever he wishes. He wants to use his strength well in the game to play a good inning. He considers important his running between the wickets should be good and should be able to play with good speed. Michael Clarke in T20s: Michael Clarke has played twenty five T20 international matches and got chance to bat in 20 innings from which he was unbeaten for 5 times. He has scored 347 runs so far in T20 international matches. His strike rate is around 109 which is not good in T20 format matches. Michael Clarke has big responsibility of whole team being a skipper of the team. If he will continue such slow game in these 20 over limited fixture matches then he will not be able to see winning his team. He is playing from several years for Australia and has got the position of skipper in the absence of Ricky Pointing. He is leading the team well as a captain in other format of international matches successfully and also making good scores from his bat. In T20 format he needs to improve to play his role as batsmen as well other than just being a batsman or bowler.Share
