India won first test match: Indian team won the first test match of two match series by 113 run. Sachin Tendulkar was given man of the match award for his unbeaten 105 in first inning and he was also given a memento for reaching 13,000 runs in his test career. Bangladesh had won the toss and had chosen to field first in five day test match and Indian team had scored 243 runs in first inning and in reply to Indian scores Bangladesh team failed to take lead and lost all wickets on 242 runs. Indian team played well in the second inning and scored 413 runs losing eight wickets and declared their inning. Bangladesh gave a good fight to Indian team but they lost all wickets at 301 runs on last day and lost the match. Next match of series will be played from 24 January.
Bangladesh Inning on last day: Bangladeshi team started playing from fourth day score 67 off 2 with Tamim Iqbal on 23 and, Mohammad Ashraful on 16 runs. They lost their third wicket earlier as well after just a few over of fifth day adding just 12 runs to previous day score. Mohammad Ashraful was caught by Dravid on the ball of Ishant Sharma at 27 runs. Raqibul Hasan came to bat next and he also failed to add much for the team and was found leg before the wicket on the ball of Ishant Sharma when he was at 13 runs. Bangladesh lost their 4 wickets off 97 runs. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan was next batsman who came to contribute for team but opener Tamim Iqbal lost his wicket scoring 52 runs from his bat. Soon after him skipper Shakib Al Hasan also lost his wicket on ball of Amit Mishra scoring 17 runs for the team. Wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim shown a good game at the time when team was required contribution and scored 101 runs but his century went waste as other batsman failed to do much. Mahmudullah was caught by Karthik on ball of Zaheer Khan when he was at 20 while Shahadat Hossain went back to pavilion scoring 24 runs from his bat. Shafiul Islam had added just 8 runs when Mishra caught his catch on his own ball. Mushfiqur Rahim tried to save team but lost his wicket on ball of Amit Mishra when he was at 101 off 142. He scored fastest hundred in test match from Bangladesh side in 112 balls. Bangladeshi team lost their all wickets on 301 runs chasing target of 415 runs.
Indian team performance in the match: Indian team had not shown much good batting in first inning scoring just 243 runs in which Tendulkar had scored unbeaten 105 runs and Shewag scored 52 runs as a skipper in match and rest of batsman failed to show magic from their bat. In second inning opener gave good start to team with Gambhir scoring 116 runs and Shewag scored 45 runs. Amit Mishra scored 50 runs batting at number three while in middle order Laxman scored unbeaten 69 runs. Bowlers have shown good game limiting the Bangladeshi team at 242 in first inning. Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra both took 3 wickets in first inning while Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth got 2 wickets each. In second inning Amit Mishra was most successful bowler who took 4 wickets for the team. Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets while Zaheer Khan got 1 wicket.
