India Vs Bangladesh: The two- nation Idea –Cup test cricket series between India and Bangladesh in being played at Chittagong, Bangla National Stadium, in Bangladesh. The series between the two countries started on 11th of Jan 2010, where India begin with the first innings with under the captainship of Varinder Sehwag, with out Mahender Singh Dhoni. Gautam Gambhir and Varender Sehwag the two openers of the country started the game. The performance of the players was not so good. Sachin Tendulkar made century with his remarkable and outstanding performance and remained not out by getting 105 runs. It was Sachin’s 44th Century. Indian team was all out for 243 in their first innings before lunch on the second day of the first test against Bangladesh. Whereas Bangladesh made only 59 for 3 at the end of the second day after the umpire declared to pause the match due to the bad light conditions. Zaheer Khan had taken 2 wickets and Ishant Sharma took 1 wicket on the second day itself. So Bangladesh finally scored 242 runs and got all out on third day of the series.
Ist & 2nd Innings of India: In the first innings the first wicket fell was of Varender Sehwag at 52 runs against 51 balls includes 9 fours with out any sixes. Gautam Gambhir got out at 23 runs for 44 balls with 3 fours and no sixes. Rahul Dravid really showed very hopeless performance and got out at 4 runs only against 10 balls and 1 four. The very poor performance was shown by VVS Laxman i.e. 7 runs against 30 balls with a very poor run rate of 23.33 only. Similarly all the wickets were continuously falling with very low scores but the batsman who stayed till the last moment was only Sachin Tendulkar with 105 un-beatable scores. The bowlers of Bangladesh who took the wickets were Shahat Hossain and the Captain Sakib Al Hasan. In second innings, India played very well. Varinder Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir participated jointly the 90 scores to the Indian score board but unfortunately Varinder Sehwag got out at 45 runs. At the end of day three India closed at 122 for 1 wicket.
First Innings of Bangladesh: Bangladeshi players started quiet well but later they proved bad results. As, Tamim Iqbal made 31 runs against 45 balls and got bold on Zaheer Khan’s ball. Imrul Keyes made 23 for 46 runs and again got out by Zaheer Khan only. Now the next comes Shahriar Nafees and Mohammad Ashraful took only 4 and 2 runs respectively. Raqibul Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan both of them individually got 17 runs each. At that stage Bangladesh was at 98 for 6 wickets but Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah had given the partnership of 108 scores where Mahudullah scored his half century. After the good partnership of 108 runs the next four wickets fell turn by turn consistently. At the end of the first inning of Bangladesh they were just a single score away from the Indian score. Indian bowlers also performed well as Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth both have taken two wickets individually.Share
