Good sleep leads to the healthy and sharp mind. Sleep is a therapeutic and affects the human body in various ways. While sleeping our brain sorts out the day’s events, learning and other information and scrutinise them in a way so that we can retain and retreave the memories when ever we require them. And if we do not sleep properly, we would be in a trouble with our short term and long term memory. For students it is very important to have a good sleep so that what ever they have learnt during the day it can be retained and retrieved for ever. It shows that good sleep maximises the memory of the human body. That’s why sleep hygiene is very important part of the training schedules of world-class athletes. The good sleep helps even in repairing of our body. The proper sleep also helps in healing of the wounds and bone and even muscle injuries in lesser time. But, if you are not taking proper sleep the chances of accidents are also higher than the usual, because sleep deprivation affects the ability to stay alert and active and makes the body dull and lazy which could lead such accidents and mishappenings, this can be seen on highways, factories and construction sites. The improper sleep can lead to the several diseases like polycystic ovary, diabetes and hormonal disorders because through our sleeping cycle our hormones keep on fluctuating and are affected when the sleep quality is bad. This may affect our insulin and cortisol secretion, which finally affects the ability of the body to balance the hormones.
Causes of Bad Sleep: The quality of sleep can be affected by several reasons like if we have tea or coffee at the bed time or if we are taking our worries and problems to bed on regular basis, similarly those people who are in use of too much alcohol their sleep must be affected and getting bad effects on their health. Reading and viewing disturbing visuals at night, having heavy meal at night or sleeping at unhygienic and uncomfortable place or sleeping in uncomfortable clothes may disturb the sleep. Sometimes the side effects of the meditation if are on can also become the cause of bad sleep and keep us in a improper metal situations.
Remedies for the bad Sleep: Getting rid of disturbed/improper sleep is not difficult or impossible; just we have to be conscious about the quality and quantity of our diet/ meal at night. We must avoid the alcohol and tea/coffee during the bed time so that we can sleep properly and our hormones fluctuate properly. Similarly we shouldn’t watch or read the topics which could force us to be disturbed during our sleep. So, if we want to have a good and healthy health and mental position, we should have a good sleep.
