Dhoni unhappy with batsmen: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, skipper of Indian team was not happy with the performance of his batsmen’s performance which made them lose the final match of tri nation series on Wednesday in Mirpur, Bangladesh. He was angry with the way Indian batsmen chosen the shots in the game which made them lose their wickets. M S Dhoni was thankful to Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja who scored 106 and 38 runs respectively. Also Virender Sehwag tried to score and he made 42 runs. M S Dhoni said that Suresh Raina is still young and he had to stay till end and they would have added at least 20 runs more then to their total and would have more chances to give a tough fight to Sri Lankan team in the match. Skipper himself also failed to do much with his bat in the match. Dhoni said we played on the pitches in the tournament on which it was not a big issue to score runs but in the final match pitch was bouncy and players to be well prepared and more careful rather than doing careless mistakes and playing wrong shots. On the opposite side Sri Lankan team shown a good game with the ball as well as with the bat and won the match as well as series. Sri Lankan bowler Kulasekara took four wickets and was awarded with man of match award while Sri Lankan skipper Sangakkara got the Man of Series award. Indian batsmen shown poor performance in the match and played careless shots while this match was an important match and Indian batsmen would have done far better with their bat but failed. For any team to win the match it is necessary that batsmen as well as bowlers both show a good game which can help the team to win.

Ashish Nehra affected: According to skipper Dhoni there was still chance to win the match if Ashish Nehra would not have injured soon. Ashish Nehra had taken one wicket in the very first over of the match when Sri Lankan team had not even opened their account of run. Ashish Nehra had sent Upul Tharanga back to pavilion on the third ball of the inning. Dhoni said we had 245 runs and we tried to defend ourself but we are like handicapped as Nehra was injured and if he would have bowled then there was good swing so we had chances to stop Sri Lankan players to score and also more chances to take the wicket. It was a good pitch for the pace bowlers as well as for the spinners. Skipper M S Dhoni was happy with the performance of bowlers that they are back in form. Dhoni said that we would have put more pressure if we would not have lost Ashish Nehra. Sreesanth given some runs in starting but later he got the momentum and did well with the old ball. He said pitch that bowler had good chance from the pitch as there was not much dew and pace bowlers were getting reverse swing and spinners were also getting turn from the pitch. He told that Indian team was dependent on the batsmen but it was nice to see that Indian bowlers are getting back into the form which is a good positive thing for the Indian team.

Failure of batsmen in final match: On Wednesday, Indian team lost the final one day international match against Sri Lanka of tri nation series. Indian team had lost the coin toss and they were invited to bat first by Sri Lankan skipper Sangakkara. Indian opening players failed to give good start to Indian team and lost their wickets very early. Opening batsman Gambhir went back to pavilion without opening his account and team was just at 1 run at that time. Just after him Virat Kohli who was in good form in last matches failed to do anything for the team and just made 2 runs in the match when team needed him the most in that crucial stage. Just after Kohli, Yuvraj Singh made a walk scoring no run went back to pavilion. After Yuvraj Singh, skipper Dhoni also failed to do much and just added 14 runs from his bat. Indian team lost their star batsman Sehwag soon too when he was at 42 runs. Indian team lost their five batsmen at just 60 runs and in 10.4 over.  It was really unfair game from the Indian batsmen as if they want to team win the match then top order should give a good start so that team can put pressure on the opponent team and also there is less pressure on the middle order if the opening is good and they can keep the momentum. We can’t hope much from the tail to score if the top order batsmen are walking this way not giving good contribution from their bat. Sehwag, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja helped Indian team reaching a score with which Indian team can stand somewhere in the match otherwise Indian team would not have reached at a total of 245 runs. Indian team would had chance to win if Suresh Raina would not have lost his wicket till end and add about 20 runs more to the team’s total score. Indian team had lost all wickets in 48.2 over at 245. After making this target Indian team took the first wicket of Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga in the very first over but Ashish Nehra got injured and had to leave the rest of match after delivering only eight balls while he was playing as one of the Indian pace striking bowler who had responsibility as well. Rest of Indian played their role well and gave the team break through when team needed but one important striking bowler was missing which made the conditions worse for the team. Target was not so big for the team like Sri Lanka and they chased it losing 6 wickets in 48.3 over.
