Sri Lanka Vs. Bangladesh: Today, on Friday 8th Jan, 2010, the fourth match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. In the starting of the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. Sri Lanka team is quite confident about its victory and so may be that’s why they decided to field first. This match is also important for three teams as the earler two matches was won by Sri Lanka team only and it is sort of deciding match for the finale of the tri series. After winning this match Sri Lanka is final for the finale of the series.
Bangladesh Inning: Bangladesh started playing the match and the opener of the team tried to set the match, but the team lost their first wicket as Tamim Iqbal at the score of 44. After that Mohammaed Ashraful came and contributed 13 scores to the team. He went to pavilion at the score of 73. Imrul Kayes tried to stay on the pitch but unfortunately he lost his wicket at the score of 42. Bangladesh team was on 88with the loss of 3 wickets. Then Raquibal Hassan and Shakib Al Hassan performed well and contributed 43 and 47 runs respectively. Raquibal Hassan got out on the score of 165 in 37.1 overs and Shakib on 199. At that moment it was seemed that it is difficult for them to make a big score. Mushfiqur Rahim also did well and scored 37 runs. He went back to the green room when Bangladesh team was on 211. After that except Mahmudullah no one could do anything and the team scored 249 runs in 50 overs. But can say good efforts made by the team.
Sri Lanka Innings: On the contrary to Bangladesh, Sri Lankans was in full confidence and they gave a good start to the match. Mahela Jayawardene and Upul Tharanga gave sparkling centuries and hence the team of Sri Lanka crushed Bangladesh by nine wickets. Chasing the 250 scores, openers performed a fantastic job and won their team with nine wickets. The player of Sri Lanka team was played so greatly. It seems that this is not a difficult task for them to chase the 250 scores and the openers proved it. Both Upul Tharanga and Mahela Jayawardena scored 118 and 108 runs respectively. Jayawardhane caught by Naeem Islam at the score of 108. After that Kumar Sangakkara came and with Upul they chase the target in just 42.5 overs. The match was very interesting and both teams played well. Bangladesh tried harder to stop the players of Sri Lanka but they are failed to do so.Share
