Auto expo 2010: Auto expo started at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on 5th of January and it will continue till 11th January. Auto expo is organized by SIAM, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which is formally inaugurated by Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma on 7 January. First two days were booked for the media while from 7th business and general visitors with different times. It is expected that about 2 million visitors will be coming to the expo in this 10th Auto Expo. In the expo there are two wheelers, three wheelers, cars, buses commercial vehicles and automobile accessories, components, garage equipments. Various companies are launching various new vehicles in the expo and some are showing their models which will be available in market later. The focus is mainly on the environment friendly vehicles, design and engineering. There are participants from more about 2100 participants taking part from 30 countries in this complete automotive show.
Two wheelers in Auto Expo: Hero Honda brought various bikes but main center of attraction was Karizma ZMR. On this the bike the center piece ZMR has water falling on two sides which is programmed to show Hero Honda logo while ZMR is written between the falling water. There were also many stalls from them with different components which were attracting the visitors. Honda launched many new vehicles in the expo which includes the CB Twister, the New CBF Stunner, the New Activa and the New Dio. Honda launched global fun bike of 1237 cc engine named VFR1200F. There were also attractions from Honda like 2010 CBR1000RR Fireblade with ABS, the CB1000R, the Unicorn Sports concept, the CBF stunner Racing version and the CBR 150R. Honda claimed the new versions of Active, Aviator gives far better mileage than the previous ones while CB twister gives mileage of 70kmpl. Bajaj Auto has also brought their entire line up of production bikes like Honda with the Kawasaki Ninja and 2 of KTM products. Yamaha have also attracted the visitors with their stunning two wheelers. The centers of attraction were the V-Max, XJ6 and T Max along with racing bike Valentino Rossi’s YZR M1. Other bikes from Yamaha were their popular bikes R1 and R15 while R15 shown in white and red strips. Fazer, 998cc and Indian Fazer of 150 cc were also in the expo. From Royal Enfield there were many center of attraction with 500 cc engines and other models like Electra 350cc, Thunderbird Twin spark and a racing model of Enfield. TVS have shown their regular bikes with Race Modded Apache RTR 160 and also displayed Hammerhead ATV. Harley Davidson have launched 12 of its Sportster, DYNA, VRSC, Softail and Touring models in India which will be available for booking from April this year and delivery will start from June and price will be varying form 6.95 Lakh to 34.95 Lakh and they have tied up ICICI bank for the loan.
Four Wheelers in Auto Expo: Various big companies of automobile took part in the expo with their new vehicles and launched some new of their products in the expo. Honda displayed small size cars as well as Honda concept cars. Honda Jazz failed in Indian market but still Honda is trying to make their hold in Indian market and they bring cars with small size which are affordable for the families. Honda displayed their new Civic with new featured and upgraded interiors and this model will be available later this year in the market for sale. Honda Accord V6 was also in display while Honda City was completely in different looks with many more features. Honda also displayed their SUV Honda CRV which is believed to give a tough fight to other vehicles of its class. Volkswagen was also there with many attractions like Volkswagen Phaeton, Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Passat, Volkswagen Jetta. They also launched a new hatchback model car Polo which will be available for Indian market from March first week this year. Toyota was aiming for the ‘Quality Revolution’ in the Auto expo as they have shown their quality from long time in the world. They introduced a small car model Etios which is expected to be of price below Rs 5 Lakh. Toyota Innova was also in their display with CNG which shows their alternatives fuel considerations for the Indian market. Other vehicles of major attraction from Toyota were Toyota Prius known as Toyota’s Eco Car, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota Sedan, the Prado and the V8 Land Cruiser models. They also showed unnamed blue car with Fine-S concept which runs on hydrogen fuel cells. General Motors was also attracting visitors with its new cars like electric edition of small car model Chevrolet e-Spark which will be launched in Indian market later this year. The car will be available most probably from October with expected price of around Rs 7 lakh. Spark will be first four seater electric cars in Indian market. India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti launched three new cars in the expo this year which are Maruti Kizashiout, Maruti RIII and Maruti SX4 Maruti Hybrid. Maruti showed their new spacious family car, Eeco in the expo with five door which is specially designed with three rows and two rows seating and about 5 to 7 person can adjust at the same time. This car is result of three years of hard work of engineers of MSIL and it is expected to replace Maruti Versa after its launch in Indian market. Audi brought also their various luxury vehicles to the expo with major attraction like Audi Sedans – A4, A6, A8 and A7, SUV’s models – Q5 and Q7, R8 Sports car and the Audi TT coupe. Audi has completed its 100 years and they are well known for their quality and there said that they will keep improving with time. Tata motors launched new multipurpose Tata Venture with eight seater capacity along with other attraction like Tata Prima, Tata Aria and Jaguar XJ. Mercedes Benz attracted the visitors with their different new models like GL class, CDI and S 500L, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG coupe model and newer version of Mercedes Benz S Class.Share
