INDIA won by 6 wickets: In India-SriLanka Twenty twenty series on 12th December, 2009, India has won the match by 6 wickets by total scores of 206. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. The match held at Punjab Cricket Association Ground, Mohali, (Chandigarh). SS Hazare and SK Tarapore from India were the two umpires elected for the match whereas the referee JJ Crowe was from New Zealand. Sri Lanka started with the openers T M Dilshan and ST Jayasuryia, where Dilshaan took only single and the first wicket of Srilanka fell with scores of 10 only. And ST Jayasuryia made 31 runs against 21 balls including 5 fours and 1 sixes. The substitute of Dilshan and the captain of Srilankan team – KC Sangakkara scored 59 runs from 31 balls and took 8 fours and 2 sixes and shown fantastic performance on the Punjab Cricket association Ground in Mohali. The next player Jayasinghe took 38 runs against 28 balls and got 3 fours as well as 1 sixer. AD Mathews showed good performance by taking 26 runs in 13 balls and got 1 four and 2 sixes. Total scores scored by Srilankan teams were 206 in 20 overs against 7 wickets falls.
Indian Innings against Srilanka: Indian Captain MS Dhoni decided to start the innings with their openers Gautam Gambhir and Varinder Sehwag. Both of them showed excellent performance. Gautam Gambhir made 21 runs in 18 balls with 1 four and got run-out in 5.6th over only whereas, Varinder Sehwag could make 64 runs in 36 balls and taken 7 fours and 3 sixes. His good performance of runs making has really participated in the victory of the team. Then our Indian Captain MS Dhoni came and took 46 scores in 28 balls by giving 3 fours and 2 sixes to the score bank of India. Dhoni got out after few overs and Raina came as the replacement of him but survived for only 7 balls and 9 runs, where he took 2 fours. Yuvraj and Karthik remained not-out till the last over of the match. Where Yuvraj made 60 runs against 25 balls and got 3 fours and 5 sixes and declared as the man of the match. Secondly he got the award for the highest scorer of the sixes in one day match. He took 3 wickets also. Karthik took 4 runs at a single ball. But Yuvraj with his fifth sixer, the first ball of 20th over declared the Country as a winner of the 20-20 one day matches.
