Swine Flu: A new global outbreak of a new strain of influenza virus is swine flu. It is officially named as new H1N1 and was first identified in April 2009. It is the mutation of four strains of influenza A virus, subtype H1N1. The four types are endemic in humans, one endemic in birds and two endemics in pigs (swine).
