At least 8 people have been reported killed and 40 injured in a blast at the Pearl Continental hotel situated at GT Road of Saddar, Peshawar Pakistan. it is also reported that the target was primarily chosen because many foreigners were staying in the hotel.
This power ful blast occured at the entrance of the Hotel. Many foreigners are reported to have been injured though none have been reported killed in the blast. This hotel was used at the permanent residence of the UNITED NATION delegates staffed in the NWFP. Also reported were few notable including a local political leader who have been injured in the blast.

it is assumed that nearly 550 Kg of explosive was used in the blast. As seen by the eyewitnessess the terrorists first opened fire from the car in which they reached the hotel. they first targetted the security staff deployed at the entrance of the hotel. At the same time a vehicle filled with the explosives tried to enter into the hotel. When stopped by the security staff the terrorists rammed the vehicle with the outside wall of the hotel.
